Run Your Mouth Off

run your mouth off vermouth irish whisky bubbly

Makes: 1 cocktail

What happens when you’ve replenished your stock of vermouth and are stubborn about using them both. Immediately. Together. All at once.

ingredients

  • 1/2 oz Irish whiskey (I used Jameson)

  • 1/2 oz Martini Rosso

  • 2 oz Martini Sec

  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice

  • 1 barspoon thick rose syrup (like Rooh Afza)

  • 1 barspoon brown sugar simple syrup

  • 1 dash aromatic bitters (I used Scrappy’s Bitters)

  • Bubbly, to top off

  • Ice

  • Lemon slice, halved, to garnish

method

  • Chill a champagne flute in the freezer for 5 - 10 minutes. Add all the ingredients (except the bubbly) to a mixing glass and swiftly stir with ice for 7 - 8 seconds. Strain into the chilled coupe, top off with bubbly, and place the lime slice over the mouth of the glass prior to serving.
